
Automating video content for journalism with generative AI
Overview
L'Identità, an online newspaper of national relevance, collaborated with GRID+ to develop an innovative solution based on Generative AI. The project aimed to transform newspaper articles into short videos, using AI to automate the entire multimedia production process. The main objective was to make the dissemination of journalistic content faster, more dynamic and effective, improving user engagement on digital channels. GRID+ developed a system based on Large Language Models (LLM), Diffusion Models (DM) and Text-to-Speech models that drastically reduced the video production time, enabling L'Identità to quickly turn newspaper articles into engaging video clips.
Problem
In the digital publishing sector, The Identity was faced with the growing demand for multimedia content, having to transform its articles into engaging and engaging videos that could be shared quickly via social media. The main challenge was to optimise this process without compromising the quality and consistency of the content, while reducing production time and increasing interaction with the audience.
Solution
GRID+ designed a customised solution based on a complex combination of generative AI algorithms for video creation. Specifically, the system uses LLM, DM and text-to-speech algorithms to automatically transform newspaper articles into short, high-quality videos, with a choice of formats and resolutions. The user interface is intuitive and allows editors to easily manage the transformation of text content into video, without the need for advanced technical skills or external tools.
Result
Thanks to the solution designed by GRID+, The Identity is now able to generate video clips quickly and automatically from its newspaper articles, significantly reducing production time and improving interaction with the audience on social media. This solution has made it possible to speed up the production of videos such as Instagram Reels, Shorts and YouTube videos, as well as expand the reach of journalistic content, while maintaining a high standard of quality and effective customisation.
